Wick Alexander, Board of Directors
Wick is a Senior Vice President and the Branch Manager of Stephens Inc. in Austin Texas, where he has earned the designation of Professional Wealth Manager. Wick began his career in Dallas, Texas with Shearson Lehman Brothers, which later became Smith Barney. In 1996 Wick and his family moved to Austin where he went to work for Morgan Keegan and while there completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program. In 2001 Wick was asked to open the office for Stephens Inc. in Austin. Wick’s securities licenses include the Series 7, 8, 31, 63 and 65, as well as his insurance license.

Wick is a member of the Austin Investment Association, the Financial Planning Association, and serves on the board of various civic and social organizations. Wick also serves as an Elder in his church.

John Barnes, Board of Directors
Mr. Barnes has been engaged in the communications industry for more than 25 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Executive vice President - Marketing and Business Solutions for Comporium. Based in Rock Hill, S.C., Comporium provides a full spectrum of telecommunications and related services, including local telephone, long distance, wireless, cable TV, Internet, security, data services and directory publishing. Mr. Barnes also serves on the Board of Directors of PalmettoNet, Spirit Telecom and Immedion, which is an enterprise-class dedicated data center provider. He began his career in the communications industry with Centel Cable of Texas. He is a recipient of the “Ted Turner Innovator of the Year” award, and he holds multiple patents and champions product and process innovation within Comporium.

Mr. Barnes is responsible for leading the nationwide expansion of Comporium’s security dealer program and directory publishing businesses. He and his team executed the industry’s first “quadruple” play -- integrating the five communications services; and also, created and launched several startup units within Comporium, including a successful home integration group. Mr. Barnes earned a degree in Business Administration from The Citadel Military College in Charleston, S.C.

Mr. Barnes coordinated the efforts of Comporium and its partners to establish the Optoelectronics Research Center of Economic Excellence at Clemson University, which will focus on improving devices, systems and protocols used in high-speed communication networks. In addition to serving in leadership roles for his church, community and industry, he serves as the Chair of Palmetto Partners, an organization that promotes math and science excellence to children.

M. Brian McCarthy, Board of Directors
Mr. McCarthy brings 30 years of domestic and international experience in technology sector and the electronic security services and alarm monitoring industry to uControl. Mr. McCarthy is currently Executive Chairman of Trax Technologies, a global SaaS provider of freight payment reconciliation services, serves on a number of public and private boards and is an adjunct professor at the WP Carey School of Business, Arizona State University. Mr. McCarthy was most recently Executive Chairman of 180 Connect which went public on Nasdaq and was then acquired by DirecTV and held the position of President of the Enterprise Systems Division of General Electric which was created by the acquisition of Interlogix, Inc. (NASDAQ: ILXI) where Mr. McCarthy had previously held a number of senior positions including CEO America. Mr. McCarthy played a pivotal role in positioning, taking public and growing Interlogix, Inc to a highly profitable $750 million enterprise which grew to $2.5 billion after its acquisition by GE in 2002.

Prior to GE Interlogix, Mr. McCarthy was Senior Executive Vice President for ADT Security Systems, the world leader in commercial and residential security monitoring, where for over 15 years he held progressively senior positions including Senior Vice President of Marketing and Chief Strategy Officer. Mr. McCarthy is widely credited with pioneering and implementing the mass market residential alarm monitoring program for ADT, and its subsequent brand development, successfully complimenting what was at that time almost exclusively a commercial offering. The program remains ADT/Tyco's most successful and profitable offering having captured close to 50% of the residential alarm monitoring market. The residential subscriber acquisition programs that Mr. McCarthy pioneered remain relatively unchanged today and have set the standard for performance and execution within the security industry for the past 15 years.

Mr. McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Queen's University and a Master of Science degree in Systems Design Engineering from the graduate school of engineering at the University of Waterloo, both in Ontario, Canada.

Kip McClanahan, Board of Directors
Kip McClanahan’s career spans nearly twenty years across the security, networking, communications and software industries. Kip has served as both CEO and board member to public and private companies leading all functional areas including strategy, operations, product, sales and marketing, as well as M&A deal structuring.

Most recently, Mr. McClanahan founded ON Networks, an Austin, Texas-based new media company optimized around the current disruption in the media and advertising industries. Prior to that, Mr. McClanahan ran 3Com’s Security Division after 3Com’s acquisition of TippingPoint Technologies, which was purchased by 3Com in early 2005 for approximately $430 million dollars. Prior to joining TippingPoint Technologies as CEO, Kip was at Motive, Inc., where he served as President and oversaw a broad range of business operations including product strategy after Motive acquired BroadJump. Mr. McClanahan was Founder, President and CEO of BroadJump, Inc., a privately held broadband software company based in Austin, Texas. Prior to founding BroadJump, Mr. McClanahan was a part of management at NetSpeed, a DSL broadband equipment company which was acquired by Cisco Systems in 1998. Mr. McClanahan's career also includes engineering and managerial roles at Motorola, Thomas-Conrad, BMC Software and Dell Computer.

Mr. McClanahan also serves on the Board of Directors for SocialWare and Sparefoot and serves as a mentor for Capital Factory. Mr. McClanahan graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

James (Jim) Johnson, Board of Directors, President and CEO
Mr. Johnson co-founded uControl in 2005 and serves as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board. Most recently, he was the Vice President and General Manager of the Service Provider Business Unit of TippingPoint, which was acquired by 3Com in February 2005.

Prior to TippingPoint, Mr. Johnson was Vice President of Sales at BroadJump, which was acquired by Motive Communications in February 2003. Prior to BroadJump, he served as National Sales Manager for Cisco Systems' ADSL portfolio. Before Cisco's acquisition of NetSpeed, he served as the Director of North American Telco Sales for NetSpeed. Prior to NetSpeed, Mr. Johnson held both domestic and international assignments with Alcatel Telecom in sales, product planning, product management and research and development.

Mr. Johnson also serves on the Board of Directors for Boundless Network and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
