Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Java Web Application developer to join our growing software engineering team. This developer will work with our Manager of UI Experience to develop cutting edge web applications. This developer will technically lead both on-site and off-site web application development. Off-site development is facilitated with an “on-site” champion, which alleviates the need for off-hour meetings. Working with the uControl services team, the Sr Web Application Developer will be responsible for the technical leadership for uControl’s web applications.

Responsibilities

• Be an advocate for the user perspective when participating in feature design meetings
• Lead the development and maintenance of uControl’s web applications
• Investigate and integrate technologies into product as appropriate
• Work with uControl’s product team to determine the best way to utilize Flash

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of industry experience
• Technically proficient with AJAX and JavaScript libraries such as Ext-JS, YUI, Prototype, etc.
• Experience with Struts, Servlets and JSP.
• Experience in developing rich featured web “2.0” applications
• Self-motivated, easy to get along with and a good communicator.

Desired Skills

• Experience developing Flash
• Experience developing with Ext-JS
• Familiar with Spring and Hibernate
• Experience with Agile software development
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Experience with WebLogic
• Experience with optimization and performance tuning web applications in WebLogic for high availability and scalability
• Experience with delivering real-time events via a web application
